A traceability system is a useful instrument to help an organization, working in the field of food and feed produtction, to achieve certain objectives in the management system. The choice of a traceability system is influenced by reference norms, by the characteristics of the product and the consumer’s expectations. The characteristics of the traceability system may change depending on the characteristics of the products and the objects that must be acieved.
Norm UNI EN ISO 22005/2008 has replaced national norms UNI 10939:2001 of production chain traceability and UNI 11020:2002 of Company traceability. Norm UNI EN ISO 22005 certifies food and feeds and can be applied both to food production chain and to the single Organization/production seat. Some requirements of traceability concerning the production chain, may not be applied to the company traceability system of a single Organization/production seat.
