Herewith Bioagricert wishes to state that, following all of the facts reported by the press about the fraud scandal of organic products, our company is cooperating with Competent Authorities and other Certification Bodies to make crossed controls in order to verify that all certified companies were not linked to those involved in the scandal. The companies involved in the scandal were not certified by Bioagricert.
From what emerged from the press release of the Financial Police in Verona, 22 companies were involved (mainly cereal wholesalers). The products under investigation are cereals and grit mainly for livestock use, but also flour for human consumption. It is estimated, according to early indications of Financial Police, that 2,500 tons of organic cereals were involved. Bioagricert wants to remind to all operators that all products covered by a valid certificate of conformity are safe and can be sold and bought wihtout any fear. |
