Bioagricert was born in 1984 when a group of technicians and experts began working as an independent certification and control body.
In 1985 Bioagricert became a member and active part of IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements), participating constructively in the definition of organic production standards and international accreditation systems, until in 1996 it became the first IFOAM accredited company for the certification of Production of plants, animals and processed and spontaneously harvested products throughout Mediterranean Europe.
Since 1993, having obtained recognition from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry as a National Body authorized for the control and certification of organic production (pursuant to EEC Reg. 2092/91 with Decree no. 17911/GL/771), Bioagricert undertakes the official activity of National Control and Certification Body.
Bioagricert srl is authorized by Masaf, Italian Ministry of Agriculture, pursuant to Legislative Decree 23 February 2018, n. 20 with DM 627705 of 11/13/2023, by the European Union with IT Code BIO 007 and by the Italian Accreditation Body ACCREDIA based on the ISO 17065 standard with registration no. 50B.
In 2017 Bioagricert became part of the US Foodchain ID Group, a leader in non-GMO certification, eco-sustainable and food safety standards as well as IT solutions for verifying the conformity of products and recipes and for monitoring the risks associated with agri-food fraud.
Thanks to its entry into the Foodchain ID Group, after 30 years of growth and success, Bioagricert can now offer its over 16,000 customers new services. Bioagricert and Foodchain ID, despite having a common history in the eco-sustainable certification of agri-food supply chains, offer complementary certifications and services, capable of satisfying the ever-growing demand for safety and quality from markets and consumers.
